Nuclear Power - Controversy

There is a lot of disagreement as to whether nuclear power is a good thing or not. You should be aware of both arguments, but remember people tend to be passionate in their support or intense dislike of nuclear power. The opinions are polarised - you need to develop an understanding of both points of view and then weigh them up to form your own view. There will be lots of news stories on the topic. Remember, when energy policies are decided upon there are economic, environmental and poitical factors to be taken into consideration. You cannot be a nuclear power in the weapons stakes if you do not have reactors - nuclear power plants have negligible carbon emuissions but produce toxic radioactive waste....
